Kowloon is a city in China that was destroyed in 1994; however, during its time of being active, the town was the most densely populated place on earth. The typeface is reminiscent of the many shops and signposts that hung from the city walls.
For the Front Cover I kept in mind the area that surrounds Kowloon. By using the type and the white space it reflects that surrounding space that was Kowloon the walled city.
I wanted to draw attention to the story summary by still tying it together with the illustration. I used subtle colors to bring the type and illustration together.
